Meet Our CEO
Benjamin Dankaka - CEO, GEM Business School
Benjamin Dankaka is a seasoned social development specialist and entrepreneur with over 15 years of experience driving literacy, leadership and business development programs in Nigeria and beyond. As CEO of GEM Business School, he leads a high impact institution dedicated to shaping the next generation of global leaders, corporate executives, and entrepreneurs.
He also heads Bookfactory Educational Consults, a research focused publishing and consultancy firm, and founded the Global Leaders and Readers Club (GLRC), an NGO that cultivates a culture of reading and leadership through its Read and Lead Campaign. Under his leadership, GLRC has partnered with Universal Basic Education Boards to establish reading programs in Kaduna and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja Nigeria—benefiting over 3,000 students across 56 schools with donated books. Dankaka previously served as a Legislative Assistant at the Nigerian National Assembly from 2011 to 2015. In 2008, he contributed to the British Council/World Bank’s Debate to Action initiative, a leadership development program for young changemakers across Africa and the UK. In recognition of his literacy advocacy, he was named one of Nigeria’s Top 12 Youth Works in 2009.
He earned his first degree from Ahmadu Bello University and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism from the International Institute of Journalism, Abuja. In 2015, he became a Fellow of the Mandela Washington Fellowship and completed a short course in Public Management at Virginia Commonwealth University, USA, under the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), sponsored by the U.S. State Department. He is also a graduate of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) and a Full Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Management. Dankaka is an alumnus of GEM College of International Business, Australia, where he studied Training Design and Development.
Beyond his executive roles, Benjamin is an accomplished author, leadership coach, and trainer. He serves on the Board of the Education and Empowerment Centre for Women (EECW) and represents GEM College of International Business, Australia, in Nigeria—continuing to advance leadership and social development across Africa.
